I had the Optimil boss and lock but before they did a Mota lita version but supplied an adaptor to convert it. Been fine and Iām really pleased with it, had the lock updated to the later anti pick type by then. Kind Regards Will 2005 90 XS 1954 86'' Series 1 tilt 1968 88ā 2A 200tdi 2002 110 Hardtop |

No, quite a positive fit with the locator pins. You would'nt think it was removable.

After checking the Optimill page I realise that I have made an error.
One of my wheels needs a Startech (note, not Moto-Lita) style boss, the other a Momo style boss. These two bosses only differ in their hole pattern for the wheel. It is only the steering wheel part of the boss which differs, the steering column part of the boss is common to either wheel fitment. Looking at the pictures, I think the same is true for the much larger Moto-Lita boss, and again I would expect the part that fits to the column to be the same in all three cases, with just the wheel part differing. The staff at Optimill are exceptionally helpful and friendly, so if it is important give them a call, I am sure they'd give you the definitive answer. Edit, my coffee has now kicked in and the brain has lurched into life. The column part of all the bosses must be the same, since the locking cap fits any of them. So Optimill Moto-lita, Momo, and Startech steering wheel hubs should fit any Optimill boss, whether 36 or 48 spline. A truly modular system. |

I will give optomil a ring as the lock might fit all of them but the holes and pins might be in different positions which may make the steering wheel of century if you interchange them and it would not matter for the spinning lock.i know my present snapoff is made with a variation in the fitting holes and pin positions...and I think optomil allegedly borrowed from twisted to make their all in one QR Boss.

I am very sure that the pinning is the same on all Optimill bosses. Optimill wisely chose to provide the security by means of the locking cap rather than unique pinning, which has the huge advantage that a villain can't simply remove the boss from the column, and the boss is also cheaper to manufacture (since the machining is the same for all).
You may be unaware that the locking boss fits onto the hub pins, so if the pinning was different then a different cap would be needed for each pinning configuration. |

The lock engages with the pins so it's definitely the same on all. Click image to enlarge Darren 110 USW BUILD THREAD - EXPEDITION TRAILER - 200tdi 90 BUILD THREAD - SANKEY TRAILER - IG@landroveranorak "You came in that thing? You're braver than I thought!" - Princess Leia |
