Should have been 2 roll pins in the kit these need to be gently tapped into the corresponding holes in the back of the boss that bolts to the steering shaft hth

Great thread. Does anyone have any feedback on if the boss reduces room / brings the wheel meaningfully closer? Don't want to compound comfort issues, but seems like it may be a price worth paying by the sounds of it.

^^ it does bring the steering wheel slightly closer to you but is hardly noticeable. You can still use the indicator stalk without any issues.

It also depends, to an extent, on your choice of wheel. However, the typical choices are all flat, which generally offsets the thickness of the boss. Any slight increase in distance is further offset by the fact that the wheel is smaller too, so it's really not noticeable. Darren

Nitram17, yes I have successfully fitted a Motolita steering wheel with the Optimill adapter and Q/R steering boss.

I use both versions (I have a "posh" wheel and a wheel for use if doing grubby jobs or taking the vehicle for the MoT etc).
Apart from the alignment of the holes they are identical and of equal high quality. |

This is my set up and I think it works great. I never had an issue with the original wheel, doing this mod for security, but I must say that the smaller wheel and extra manoeuvring space is an unexpected and welcome bonus. |
