How much is a spare set of defender wheels worth?

Got a few for sale and im tempted by a spare set - but they all seem too much Mike

There is a set (5) of the 20's for £1400

2 weeks ago - same supplier had a 19" - 6 spoke - with Adventure tyres for £1100

I am umin and arring whether to buy a set also - or just change tyres...

Because even with a second set - I would still change tyres...

Like a 3PMS set like K02 - but in a size that fits - hopefully more choices will come to market.

And, if memory serves me from earlier discussions, a set of 19” rims and new(ish) takeoffs for the same price as a set of tyres alone. Whistle Whistle

I just changed the tyres from all seasons to all terrains, they are speed limited to 99mph which isn’t an issue for me as above 70 is illegal anyway...... Whistle
so far this winter we’ve been as low as -11C and deepest snowfall here 30m above the sea but 45 miles inland has been 10cms and they have been no problem. Running all the time on the Duratracs has not shown any increase in fuel consumption and a very small increase in road noise (so small no passengers have commented that it has increased).
If you are buying new tyres then do check that you cannot get discount through any trade union/ professional or trade body that you may be a member of through work - my professional body achieved 15% at KwikFit but didn’t cover mobile fitting, my trade Union membership got me 20% and included mobile fitting but unfortunately the mobile fitter couldn’t get the 20” wheels on his balancing machine in his van but he did make me an appointment for the next day at the local branch that cost nothing extra. Now I have 5 All Season tyres added to the 5 x BFG AT 16” old Defenders tyres and wheels, 5 x Evoque 20” wheels and tyres and the 5 x 21” RRS SVR wheels and tyres (bought unused and remain unused!) for my last RRS clogging up my garage............ I’m getting as bad as DSL for rubber hoarding..... Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed!

I was tempted to run a set of BFG ATs as they are my favourite tyre - i do a lot of miles though, mainly road, so just weighing that element up and was tempted by a more mud set and the road set.

Ideally i want to go to BFG ATs and run as one set Mike

Yes I’m also looking to buy an additional set of 18” steel wheels but not sure how much a set of 5 JLR ones cost tbh. My defender is coming with the 20” first edition spec wheels on and I have selected the Duratrac dealership installed tyres.

Tim good to hear your Duratracs are running well Thumbs Up

What happens to the tyres fitted on assembly? U have a second set to sell on or keep for the future?

Yes you get the all seasons that come on the vehicle from the factory, think Pirelli Scorpion.

Simon it’s the D250 they will fit, double checked before I ordered back in September Thumbs Up

I think it’s £320 a wheel from LR.

EDIT - It’s £314 but that includes fitting, so should be less. 24MY 90 D250 HSE, Tasman Blue
