If that’s 25k
The issues are normal on the age of Defender and a good body shop can easily fix the windscreen surround and the rust on the door. Bumpers are cheap and the rear step can be resprayed too. Just really negotiate on that price as I really think it’s over priced. |

Should it be completely rust free for that sort of money?
I'm sorry if I'm not getting it but I'm just trying to understand exactly what I should be looking for the money as they all seem that price, especially the XS's. I literally can't find one private or dealer for much less. Thanks Ash |

In my opinion a 2009 xs that’s not in standard form and mint condition is not worth nearly 26k
The wheels and seats are a personal choice as too is the black roof and arches that have been done at a later date. Think the black and silver packs came in around 2013-14 I would smoke around in a banger while looking for the right one. The covid situation is making things awkward and I wouldn’t rush into parting with the bucks. Get a wanted add on here and something nice will come up 👍 |

I suspect the owner is trying to recoup the cost of all of the shiny things he's added and has an overinflated view of its value. Darren

I’m not completely in tune with the market at the moment, but for 25k I’d be thinking 2013ish, sub 50k miles 90 XS. This one seems over priced.
Stick a wanted ad on here, someone may come along and surprise you. |

stick the reg into "we buy (steal) any car" then split what they offer and what the seller is asking, put that on the table and see if they bite. Jumped ship to reliability - Mitsubishi L200

Thanks for everyones help, I'm now looking at a 110 at Nene Overland, I've heard some bad things however about them.
This is it - https://www.neneoverland.co.uk/listings/la...e-edition/ Any opinions I would be grateful. |

Nene had a bit of a tax controversy a few years back If I remember rightly, so their reputation isn’t great. That’s not to say they haven’t changed.

Well if anyone knows of anyone selling a 2008 onwards 90 XS that's been well looked after I've got a budget of £25-30k and I'm looking to purchase this month. Happy to travel, based near Northampton / Milton Keynes / Bedford.
Thanks for everyone's help and hopefully I'll be posting pictures of what I've bought soon. |

Looking at the comments of people who know a little more about the UK market, it strikes me that given the spec of the yellow one, it too is too expensive, despite the low mileage. You probably need £5k to get it somewhere towards the spec of the green one, so why not split the difference and take a punt offering them £22k/22.5k? You might not be able to chuck Recaros in with the 2-3k difference, but if you're happy to DIY you could get it carpeted, Airconned, put some new Exmoor seat covers on (with heaters) and add some other luxuries (sound proofing, window tint etc). Wheels look good, so don't need upgrading, colour is fab, and everything else works well with the model. Monsieur Le Grenadier
I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list..... 2011 Puma 110DC - Corris Grey |

But at the end of the day that yellow one is a 12 year old base model that's had half a respray job done on the outside.
It will always be just that, no matter how much bling is bolted on. A good genuine XS will always be worth more. |
