Closing in now, got the wings on and squared up. Needed to chop a section off the aircon grille to clear the small coolers and that should hopefully be us going for a test drive. Also fitted the L663 pedals and I then made a start on the rear seat heaters.

I guess it's the gentle 1000 mile warm up, before being able to really enjoy it? Must be difficult to hold back!!! James

Yea nothing major. Get brakes setup up on first run, and after that 500 miles on it ASAP and change the oil and filter. Andy

Bit more progress this evening, all new fixings used for arches, refurbed aircon cooler, slam panel, pretty much everything. Going to get a well deserved bath tomorrow and then just the last few bits on the exterior.

Can I ask a strange question, or request, would it be possible to measure from the floor to the top of the tyre the height and tell me what three you are running? Trying to ensure after I put on 18” rims I can still get mine in the garage. I can only dream of swapping my engine out the country I live in does not allow this Searching for my first Defender...and started just as Covid hit, so talk about timing.
5 months after starting the search I found it, and here is the details |

Yes no problem but I am running alive comfort springs which have lowered the height a little. Andy

Give it a good scrub today inside and out now we have hopefully finished the messy work. Makes the next round of work more enjoyable. Front grille back on after some pretty major surgery to clear the coolers but can hardly be noticed. My wing protectors also arrived and are a great fit. Just think they will be handy to have in the back. Britpart DA5631 via flatdog in case anyone is after a set.

Decided on a standard bumper.
Click image to enlarge And fixed the gearbox selector and tunnel carpets etc all back in. The new cubby console just sit over the top which is handy. Loving the finishing look Andy
One thing though, are you going to leave the front with just one air intake or put one the other side even if it's there for show ? 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up. Keeper. Clayton. |

Thanks.....Just the one. That’s still the printed one but I have an alloy one getting CNC’d at the minute. Andy

Love all the little details. CNC intake will be quality. Will it have mesh or just a gap? WARNING.

Looking very smart Andy, your attention to detail is inspiring. The front bumper looks really good and suits the front end, quietly understated like the rear end badging 2015 HT XS 90
