dcpu rear speakers
Looking to add some speakers to the rear of my dcpu. What are the mounting options? Are there pre-made brackets available for this? Anyone done a similar job and willing to show their fitment? 04' 110 TD5 Double Cab

JOE_130 and I made up some speaker boxes for the rear of his DC. Couldn't find anything to buy. We just cut out marine ply in the right shape such that the speakers would fit behind the seats (which aren't fitted at the moment).

Think it depends what speakers you want to fit. We fitted 6.5" components. They sound good without a sub although he also has a 12" sub box we made to fit in the middle, all along the back above the rear "shelf" that's created when you take the seats out behind the seat box.

Photos would be good but haven't got any at the minute.

Are you trying to fit them up high or down low?

Considering the focal pc165's and a woofer to mount behind the seats. 04' 110 TD5 Double Cab

Should work OK as they're the same size as ours.

Make up a triangular flat faced box to sit behind the seat pushed into each corner on the ledge behind the seats. Doubt a sub would fit behind there with seats still fitted, but we were considering making a second iteration that used the seat box as the sub volume so that might be an idea. No wasted space then.

Just a suggestion, fit the focal's in the front with a woofer under the rear seats and you may well find you don't need rear speakers too Thumbs Up

Yep, done that - 6.5" Hertz speakers under the rear seats in custom boxes, and a 10" sub in custom enclosure - running of a 6ch amp under the drivers seat.

Those speaker boxes look great! Do you happen to have plans or measurements for them?

Like Hank, I’ve swapped the standard DC speakers with Focals and added the Focal ibus amp/sub under the rear seats. I’ve bought two more pairs of focal speakers and will (when I get my arrrrse into gear) fit the 10cm in the headlining above the b-pillar and the 13cm pair in the headlining in the rear corner about the corner windows, using spacers to add depth. They will then be wired into the head unit using the Focal 4.320 mini amp, which I shall fix under the dashboard cover over the passenger side handle. That provides a six-speaker, two-tweeter, one-sub (9-speaker), two amp set up, with 50% above head height, 50% at head height. I have soundproofed the whole cabin, including adding high density egg-box sheet behind the rear seats and a super thick sound blanket between the headlining and the roof. Thumbs Up
