Listening to various news reports about this... the driver seems to be a complete dick......
He doesn't seem to realise what he's actually done. He's concerned now that he'll be charged for the removal of his car. Duh! Apparently it's Top Gears fault now according to some woman on Radio 2.... |

What a cock.
Listened to him on radio2. He did it because it was on his list of fifty things to do before he died, and he know has 49 still to do. I don't think he has even managed this challenge yet, as he did not drive it down. Must do my own list of things to do, just so I have an excuse to do what ever I want. Andy |

There is now quite a fuss brewing about how to get the Frontera down again. "Experts" are discussing four options; airlift it by helicopter, dismantle it and carry it down, put it on the train, or - shock horror - drive it down.
Since it was driven up in the first place, driving it down seems to obvious choice, but the Snowdonia National Park authority has apparently said this won't happen. I reckon that the job should be subcontracted to the local Landrover club; they would get it down easily enough, although it might be a little damaged during the descent as it is a Frontera. Or the army or TA could do it as a training exercise. Lets face it, there must be hundreds of people who would jump at the chance of recovering the thing! Does anyone know if the Snowdonia National Park Authority has special powers for removing vehicles? The reason I ask is if he'd driven it into my garden and left it, the only person who could move it without a court order is the owner (otherwise it is TWOC). Makes me wonder if the answer isn't simply to tell the moron who left it there to remove it himself. I notice that said moron describes himself as as "unempolyed freelance vehicle recovery technician", which is a bit of a laugh in itself. Overall I dont know which is more pathetic, the fool who put it there or the fuss the authorities are making. |
