Thats a fabulous build, did you say you were able to purchase a kit for the LS?

This really has come on, I did an engine conversion nearly 11 years ago with my dad, Got a donor car for practically all the bits and pieces, took me and my dad about two evenings, that was in and wired up etc. Then the fun really started when you start to add bits and pieces later on to make it even better Very Happy I started to roll out lotus upgrades on the car once the car was up and running. Looked very factory fit and surprised a hell of a lot of people. Very Happy
I had to get proper decent tyres though, as it would spin the tyres going up hill Laughing Had people laughing at me, when i was just wheel spinning in the wet, trying to pull away at the lights once. i ended up pulling away in 3rd gear. I could not take the car over 2k rpm in the wet. once i had the proper tyres on, we were laughing. My dad putting the car into a bend at 90 mph plus, in the damp, going down the A19 ( road in the uk) People were like what the hell!! People not used to seeing a rover metro going that fast at all yet alone seeing one. Was the very last GTA 16v i believe in the northeast, and quite possibly the one left up my end of the country too, as it was such a rare model, (rarer than the GTI) Learned so much from doing the car we did. Could tackle a defender rebuild no bother Thumbs Up
Parts for metros started to get harder to find and things started to go wrong age related, to the point i had to call it, after another body reshell, ( gta 16v shell got that rotten i had to re body it) Into a 1.1s shell, Kept all the 1.1s trims too, so it looked like a proper carbed car. People again were thinking what the hell! I remember some kid thought i was racing him, his daft polo. He nearly ran into the back of someone, then realised the car was twice if not four times the car he had Laughing
Having a 1.8 vvc in a car that weighs less than a defender brake disc is fun. Would i do it all again, not with a rover car, i would do something different, but the info would have to be bob on like. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

Success is 90% Inspiration and 4 minutes Preparation # you can make it!

Started to get some of the plumbing back in, some modifications needed to the aircon pipes and then standard PS pipes. Also tested the new rad which is a bit of a beast.

Slow week waiting for my small oil coolers but got new brake lines from Joe at Pioneer and Ged has been working on the exhaust. Definitely getting close to the finish line.

You should’ve had Ged do the front section of exhaust too. That rear section is gonna put the front to shame Laughing 1989 90 4.3 V8

Aha!!...a very familiar sound to me, but it will sound much better when it's working hard, round 35-4000 RPM, under load!

Yes I would say by the end of this week. Oil coolers arrived and new Allisport header tank due tomorrow and that’s hopefully us but there are still plenty of details to sort out. Andy
