Thanks Dorset.
Is it 4 of the washers? One per cylinder? |

Eight of the washers, they’re banjo bolts so one each side of the fitting for each injector. The hose looks perished so it might be the source of the leak also.
Don’t overtighten the leak-off banjo bolts - they snap very easily. |

If the braided/rubber pipes are perished the engine should start better (after sitting/overnight etc) with new ones.

I changed my braided pipes with some I got from Halfords for about £5. Takes about 3 minutes and the old ones were very brittle.

Bits and bobs ordered, just at the mercy of Bearmach and their Christmas hours.
Can’t for love nor money find banjo bolts, sold out everywhere seemingly. I’ll just have to be careful. Case of nipping them up then a 1/4 turn? |

Run the bolts down to stop and then maybe 10°.

In twenty plus years of 300tdi ownership The only leak off hose I have found that actually lasts is St Gobain Tygon hose. Expensive but worth it.
Every braided hose I have tried has lasted 6 -9 months before breaking down. |

Fixed today. Only one snapped banjo on cyl 4.
Overtightened it going back on and snapped it. Luckily had the old ones so no issues. |

Does anyone know the internal and external diameter of the flexible braided hose needed for the fuel return hose?
