With the advice of llessur this one is solved.
Although the relay for TDCi is more complicated than on previous Defenders - the bypass relay still works. On the below link you will see the pics for it. https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic76071.html |

Alternatively you can reach under the driver's side front wing adjacent to the radio aerial and simply unplug the dim dip resistor, and leave the relay alone. The zero cost option!

^^^^ This is what I did.
I sealed the rear entries of new connectors and fitted those to blank off the unplugged connectors too. Saves leaving them just unplugged and left “open air” even if they won’t be used again. $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R 🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴🇮🇪🇺🇸⛽️🛢️⚙️🧰💪 |

Worth remembering too that if you unplug the dim dip resistor, and then subsequently Lucas, Prince of Darkness takes your headlights away by melting the light switch at an inconvenient moment, you can simply short the terminals of the disconnected resistor connector (in effect putting a near-zero Ohm resistor in the circuit) as as though by a miracle you'll have full power dip beam whenever the sidelights are on.
Lucas, P.o.D., will be defeated! |

Just to close this off - I have fitted the replacement relay and the system works as it should.
So although the Puma Dim Dip relay is more complex that the previous versions, Part Number YWZ10003L cures the problem. Thanks guys for the DIY suggestions, I have not tried them as I had already ordered the part. |
