Superpro bushes in front, help needed!
All

I have a standard '58 plate 90 with standard shocks, I got the Superpro bushes SPF0075K which are to be used instead of LR part number 552818, took off the front shock, superpro bushes on but there is not enough bolt thread to even engage the lock nut at either end, let alone do it up! Was using the original washers and ensured they are the correct way round.

Am I being stupid and there is a special way of getting this done up? Or are my shocks different? Any help please!! 2.4TDCI 90 - everyday brilliance

Jack your axle up so it compresses the damper maybe?

The problem is the threaded bolts aren't long enough, even on the top turret! 2.4TDCI 90 - everyday brilliance

As above jack it compress the inner bushes slightly to get the nut started.

In the past I have fitted the outer washer then used a pry bar as a lever to compress the washer with the bush under it down and expose thread on the shock to get the nut started. Cheers

Sorry being a moron was thinking compress the shock! Thanks Greeni and jst I get what you mean - jack it to compress the bushes Rolling Eyes

Fine plan, will prepare some swear words, get out a pry bar and have another go! 2.4TDCI 90 - everyday brilliance
