Rear demister voltage sensitive switch?
Just bought an 08’ 2.4, working on a list of things to repair.
There’s no voltage at the rear window wires (the grid is alright) - there is power to the switch, switch relay and lamp - but the circuit diagram points to a voltage sensitive switch.

Not behind the dash as on the old ones, not under passenger seat... is it in the RH fuse board in a different case (as it’s newer?) or someplace else?
Was thinking behind center dash, before or after rear door maybe...

If I’ve gotten hold of the wrong diagram and in fact there isn’t one, it may be the wire. But looms seem in good condition so would be odd!

Anyone know if this model has the VSS or is a simple switched relay and I’m missing something more basic?

Thanks,
Tim

No VSS on the rear heated screen wiring on a Puma, not sure when LR stopped fitting them but they haven’t been on for a very very long time!

There is a timer/enable unit on the FRONT screen, perhaps this is what you’ve seen?

There is a normal relay so check this is working ok (perhaps by swapping over with another of the same).  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

Please don't forget to check for broken wiring in the convoluted rubber grommet / tube between the door and body tub, if you have not done so already.

Solved! No wonder the ground was shoddy - was trying to get thru the hinge plus everything else frayed... further back than I looked.
repaired and did the rear window lamp where it rubbed through too.
Thanks for the suggestions, the breaks were behind the plastic speaker housing, I briefly scoped the circuit and it was awful so assumed it was further back as the door was alright in the end.

Onto the next fault!

Glad you got it fixed .
Although it's frustrating when things stop working, it's satisfying when you get it sorted.
