I know what you mean - top speed of 82mph was a pain even on crowded U.K. motorways.
Gave my Puma a BAS tune with speed limiter removal and now cruising at 85mph + on the Autobahn just about keeps up with the traffic. Pete Bell does bespoke things to engine management systems https://bellautoservices.co.uk/engine-remaps/ and has customer service that is outstanding. Could be worth a call, even though the "New Defender" doesn't yet figure on his site. Just because you're offended doesn't mean you're right. |

Yeah I think my D200 that I’ve ordered tops out at 109mph. More than enough for the UK though something to be weary of if travelling on the autobahns.

I think if you want to blast down the German motorway you chose the wrong car?
When I've done some trips using them people don't half follow close. I will admit their lane discipline is far better than ours, overtake and move in...but if there is an accident it must be a big one. What ever you drive you will have a 318d badged up as a 'M' right behind you |

Nothing more stressful than driving on a derestricted 2 lane stretch of autobahn. Apart from at night, that plain terrifying. Great fun doing 70mph in the “fast” lane with cars doing double that expecting you to get out the way regardless of the HGV beside me in the slow lane.
And don’t get me stared on Polish motorways! |

I experienced a new defender driver on the m6 last week who came tanking up behind me in the outside lane expecting me to move over with his "I'm a new defender get out of my way attitude " nothing me off more especially when I'm travelling at the legal speed limit and cant move over because an hgv is on my near side.

Somewhat right but then youre creating the traffic if you dont move over. Stay left unless overtaking, thats far more annoying. It won't be long until the speed limiters can be removed! Instagram @defender_ventures Empire Tuning - Agent |

I wonder how fast a 400hp unrestricted Defender would go... Too fast to be safe I suspect - hence the limiter in the first place. 2005 Td5 90 XS

Why would it be unsafe, on the right tyres? An L405 (with similar underpinnings) is fine at 140+.

Last week on the M6 I was trying to find out how fast my new Defender would go but old Defenders with their 'I'm not moving out the way attitude' wouldn't move out the way 130's have feeling's as well you know

Ooops, didn't want to start THAT kind of discussion.
I'm really sorry for all of you having experienced some of those uncomfortable maybe even scary situations. However, to my experience being road agressive is not related to the kind of car but to the kind of driver. I travel 25.000 miles plus a year, there you will find plenty of situations were it is no problem at all to go faster then 109 mph on Autobahn. And the Defender is easily capable of doing so.
Well, sometimes you don't have a choice... |

A little banter on here is good, it beats watching the news.
