It should have a frame number on it, if it has and it’s one piece, just ask for a written receipt. I’d say 60-70 percent dont get road registered when new, mine didn’t when i bought mine new.

Also proof of sellers ID - photo of their driving licence and a photo of a council tax bill shouldn't offend a genuine seller and should keep you in the clear if there was anything untoward down the line - 'I bought it off a bloke down the pub' is basically admitting I knew it was nicked....
