That's something they could probably correct with an online update if enough of us complain, like adding a "Remember last Terrain Response setting" on/off slider thingie in one of the settings menus. I gather it doesn't default the suspensions back down to normal height if you are in off-road height and turn the engine off and back on, because that would really suck? Have yet to take mine off-road to test it.

Mine stays up at off road height on switch off - I’ve forgotten a couple of times and exited almost on my face because the drop is considerable and I don’t have the side steps. One thing, if the auto stop/start activates the setting in use in the TR is not reset in my car. Someone from the infotainment and UI development team at JLR replied on FB to my query about the above issue (the TR always defaulting back to Comfort mode after an ignition cycle.) It's an emissions testing requirement (not sure in which country - probably more than one.) The rules mandate that a vehicle always has to start in the same conditions used for such tests. So, there. It's something we'll have to learn to live with.
Guess we should probably thank Volkswagen for that one? |

what a major PITA!

One more thing that owners may want to experiment with and report back:
After experimenting more with the hill hold during the outing, we have found that in Comfort mode, the Hill Hold automatically brakes & holds the vehicle if we stop on a hill, *without having to touch the brakes*. Done on the standard factory issue Pirelli All Season tyres too, not the off-road tyre option. Surprised how well they handled the sand and mud. ZA review at a local 4x4 trail, with an old 110 accompanying him.

Interesting that his D240 has a single tail pipe on the left, U.K. D240’s have twin pipes on the left and D200 has a single pipe each side of the back box. Is there no requirement for the DPF etc in the exhaust in ZA?

Not sure if the ZA spec has a DPF, but it definitely does not have AdBlue, maybe that's why? --

Both D200 and D240 have the tailpipes on one side. The petrols have one either side. Though I believe the new 3.0 have them either side.
