France 2011 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 DCPU Corris Grey
Wow, what a report.

That’s why I don’t associate myself with modern LR but see myself as a Defender owner (protector of a now extinct lineage). Based on current design philosophy, based on what Gerry McG has been getting up to, based on customer service etc, I’d never buy a new one. If I wanted a premium SUV, I’d buy Porsche. If I wanted mid-priced, I’d buy Toyota or Audi. If I wanted value I’d buy Toyota or Skoda. And if I wanted one that was a proper workhorse, I’d take a punt on the Grenadier purely because it has a cool name. Oops, sorry, I meant that I’d take a punt based on the clear evidence of the engineering direction and effort the Grenadier team is making, in complete contrast to LR. Monsieur Le Grenadier

I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list.....

It shows the double standards and hypocrisy in the virtue signalling they like to indulge in:

Might look ok with a white roof and more aggressive tyres. Possibly better with a white Defender? 1951 80" S1 2.0

I like what PowerfulUK have done to the front of their Fuji White P300, looks more aggressive than the plain white front, not so keen on the RRS L320 wheels that they’ve fitted though! Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed!

I don't know why the proportions look so wrong on the new Defender, the "90" looks even more odd to me than the "110". At least the "90" doesn't have the bizarre "mood board" on the side though.

The wheels look too small, and the waistline too high. The Yeti was a similar concept but looks much better proportioned.

I think I might have found where that comes from:

I think Gerry might have a thing for her and subconsciously has let thoughts of her colour his design.

Just home after collecting the car from the dealers. The rain water leak was coming from the FIXED section of window after they dismantled all the door trim and water tested it - they replaced the fixed window glass and that was the part they had to order in. The work sheet doesn’t list list any TSB number for it however the service engineer commented that in that dealership they had had two other cars with the same problem, both early production like mine.
All rattles now resolved for now - let’s see what it’s like after the next hot sunny day or drive off-road - the A pillar trims were replaced as per the TSB and on the run down the motorway for part of the drive home no more tapping above 65 mph. They also dismantled my interior trim on the B pillar as I had a rattle in there somewhere and they did something but haven’t recorded what the fix was on the receipt, the rattle is gone for now - again let’s see what happens after a hot day or off-road track drive.
The fixed recovery eyes were fitted as requested although the near side one might not be quite square (or PowerfulUK’s 3D printer didn’t quite get the right size!) in the bumper cut out as a bit of pressure was required to get the PowerfulUK finisher pushed fully into the cut out while the offside one went in no bother at all.
Unfortunately I used the portrait mode for the recovery eye on collection from the dealer that show the crude way LR is happy for their system to end up with just a gap around the eyes like this

Now after PowerfulUK’s finisher has been fitted

Did it fall off a trailer or something? Surely they can't be trying to pull it out using a strap tied around the front wheel?

Looks like they have already had a go at recovering it with a strop through the back wheel !!!
I wonder if that rear suspension bottom control arm is a weakness? Wasn't there a picture from a Russian review where they broke the bottom arm and ended up using a section cut out of a high lift jack frame? Or was that on the front?
