After moderate overnight rain last night and continuous light rain all morning I’ve looked inside the rear door this evening and no more rain water ingress !
So if you are getting water ingress through the rear doors get your dealer to check the fixed glass on each door as it may need replacing under warranty. Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come 2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed! |

It was a rear: Click image to enlarge And there was the US video showing they peeled/shaved: And what are they made of ~ the rocks appear to be shaving metal off very easily: Click image to enlarge So it does question there strength/durability. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge |

That’s one reason I’m not wasting money on the air suspension, it doesn’t give much additional clearance under the suspension components.

You fixed the leak by driving it off the road into a ditch? |

That broken rear restraint arm was from the Namibia launch. The vehicle was being driven at high speed while the driver was, as he admitted, not paying attention, He hit a rock directly with the front wheel which launched the vehicle into the air and it came down vertically on the arm which broke. It was fixed by some Aussies who had done that kind of repair before. Nothing to do with the intrinsic strength of the suspension. The lower arm itself was not damaged, and the vehicle continued with the temporary repair to the end of the launch route.

Scary. New Defender 2.0 D200 CO2/km rating is 235g & lists at circa €50k in France but then you will have to pay another €40k to the government just for buying it (2021 on) as it’s over their 225g/CO2 threshold. Yikes. #PHEV #P400e Defender is going to be v popular in France! https://twitter.com/harrym_vids/status/1310603504101265408?s=20 Hard to see an answer for this for any 4x4 manufacturer that doesn't mean alternative fuel? |

They’ll be selling even fewer P300 and P400’s then as they are 250gr and 277 grm CO2 ....
The D250 MHEV 6 cylinder diesel has less, 234grm, compared to the D240 4 cylinder at 250grm but still over the limits for France The crazy thing in France is that if you go for the low emissions PHEV DEfender that has 74grm rating on the WLTP calculation, but in ICE mode after draining the battery they will emit even higher emissions due to lugging around all that battery weight. You won’t gain any less emissions in the longer term as the 2.0ltr Petrol PHEV will be putting out more than the plain nonPHEV version’s 250grm purely because of the additional 150kilos of batteries it has to carry all the time. Then there are the emissions from the power stations needed to make the electricity......... Oh goodness why'd you have to go post those photos? I had my heart set on the Blue one and now you've gone and confused the issue entirely Jokes aside, it looks very good in the yellow with the Camel Trophy badging. Thanks for sharing! |
