I’ve applied the fix to both the front doors and the rattle has stopped. Rears to be done tomorrow.

Just been doing the rattle fix to my remaining doors and found this behind the rear nearside passenger door seal - obviously JLR found something in the early days and applied a double sided sticky pad but one side isn’t sticking so it doesn’t do it’s job properly. It was only on one door. Maybe some stronger sticky is needed and a strip on all the doors too, but I’ve used silicone sealant as in the video on all the doors with the radiused plastic piece.
The was a lot of dust at the back of the front passenger door seal that needed to be cleaned off too - I’ve done a couple of drives recently on dry Sandy tracks that put up vast clouds of dust ( and yes it in Scotland not Australia or Arizona, we do sometimes get a week or so of sunny dry weather here!)

Thanks Mikey- no wonder there are a few delays getting a slot in the workshop with all those issues to be looked at........... my one goes in for another attempt to cure the water ingress through the rear passenger door next week - this will be the third attempt to fix it........... might have to consider a rejection if the leak isn’t fixed this time as there is obviously a hidden hole somewhere that wasn’t sealed on the production line. I was told it might be because of the roof rails last visit but the roof rails were fitted in August, after the leak was reported in June.......... otherwise it’s a great car and I love driving it but if it’s going to leak for the rest of its life that isn’t something I relish on such an expensive vehicle. If I want to get wet while driving I’ll use my old 90 instead but I don’t expect a car designed in the 21st century to leak. Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come

Rolling with laughter

I went into my local LR dealer here in Elche Spain, an they have a Tamar blue std looking 110 inside. all I can say is for 89,000 Euros, you are never going to sell more than 6 a year. LR have lost their minds.

I collected mine from the dealers this morning after 3 days in the workshop and had a silent , rattle free trip home with no tapping on the front screen from the A Pillar trim, no rattles in the driver’s door and no rattles from the window frame rubbers (I fixed those ones myself).Hopefully also no more rain water ingress after replacement of the fixed glass section of the driver side rear passenger door glass. Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come

I paid for a 1 hour subscription to topix, I think it was £25 to view the Defender only.

Good news. Fingers crossed there are no more issues.

How many visits/days has it spent at the dealers so far? WARNING.

Just curious - what video is this and are you able to share the link?

I’m picking up my first edition 110 tomorrow! Cannot wait!

Here it is again. Hopefully your car is a recent enough build that they have now solved these issues. My car is a very early build with a VIN not much more than 1000 and I believe that the VINs are now up above 18000 (it’s mentioned in one of the posts by one of the USA members ) - also look out for distorted window seals on the rear passenger doors, water ingress on th dreary passenger doors (you will see it coming out of the door trim and lying on the arm rest - cure is a replacement fixed rear door window glass), rattles in the B pillar, misaligned signature square thing on the rear window and misaligned doors. The cars I’ve seen on showroom floors in the last couple of week haven’t had the misaligned signature square or doors not hung properly. The A pillar trim tapping on the screen shouldn’t happen now as the trim has been redesigned and only cars with in a certain VIN group need attention. Cure for the door rattles is in the video and there is a factory fix for the rattles in the B pillar but I don’t have any reference number for it - I suspect it’s either a piece of foam plastic or some stick tape to stop a wire vibrating.

Zed, since June 12th delivery 3 visits and 5 days in total in the workshop - while it was in for remedial work I also had roof rails and crossbars and the rear recovery eyes fitted but job times for those aren’t a working day. Biggest problem has been getting dates that the workshop has a slot available. When I was contacted to be told that the new A pillar trims had arrived they couldn’t take the car for 10 days then I couldn’t take it in the first available day so the gap stretched to 2 weeks.
The dealership I use is Pentland Stirling Land Rover, they aren’t the biggest outlet but they have a very large client base so are usually as busy as the big dealers in the south. They used to be one of the few family owned dealerships but the Morrison family sold out 2 years ago and while standards have remained as good as they were under family ownership, a lot of the great staff left along with the owning family which was a shame. It was great to be on first name terms with the directors, service manager and sales staff but apart from one salesman now I wouldn’t know who was the tea boy or the MD let along the service manager. Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come

Thanks for this! Definitely stuff to look out for. My first edition has a relative low VIN I think around the ~1500 mark - this is a model that was in a showroom but not registered so not driven. So unfortunately I suspect it will suffer from a few of these issues. But good to hear they are resolved.

In terms of resolution, is it best practice to go to the sales person who sold me the vehicle or to go to a service centre directly and speak to them?

At that VIN number I'd be asking the salesperson, before handing over any money, for a print out of all applicable service actions, etc and confirmation paperwork that the vehicle had had them all completed prior to you accepting it. They've had the time, why should you waste yours toing and froing to the dealership once you own it?
