When and why did a Railway Station become a Train Station? Just because you're offended doesn't mean you're right.

Logically - but the English language is not based on logic Laughing
Unless you believe in the (usually American) auto correct on your 'phone! Just because you're offended doesn't mean you're right.

& in the owners book that came with Mrs. C's new Ford Kuga - it refers to the "trunk", "hood", "lug wrench" & apparently it has a "gas tank" & "tires".
ONE of the reasons it will be her last Ford.

Oh, & another thing - all the car/vehicle adverts that show only LHD models.

Ford nearly always used registrations that can be read from both directions. In the older times it was so they could just put the film in backwards (view from the wrong side) then it would switch lhd to rhd and which side of the road you drive on.

They still appear to use the registrations but don’t appear to worry if left or right hand drive, or which side of the road Question

I hear you mate. My kids talk about wanting to rent an apartment’ (you mean a flat?) or buying ‘real estate’ (a fookin house). My step son tells us he needs to go to ‘the bathroom’ (it’s a ‘toilet’ FFS!!).

Too many reruns of Friends on telly.

Friends, Doc P. I think I was the only person not to find that TV series remotely entertaining Shocked

When I was a kid, a similar show was Happy Days. I didn't get that either. Why did everyone cheer when the Fonze walked in? Why did all the laughter sound the same - as if it was artificial and added to the programme (program?) Rolling Eyes

Canned laughter. You have to feel for the person who adds that to telly shows. What a soul destroying job. Like adding the bleeps to a Jerry Springer Show. Still, look on the bright side. You will never be out of a job.

Because, apparently the 'Fonz' was cool.

The thing I could not fathom was that the 'Fonz' was considerably older than the young teenage girls he hung around with. Today 'Happy Days' and the 'Fonzes storylines would be viewed as Wow whats he up to! For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at..

I hate the current 'Snuck' instead of 'Sneaked', not to mention 'dove' replacing 'dived' etc..

Why do marketing men and women still think we’ll buy a car because the voice-over is done in a national accent (Renault radio ad, French). What’s more, why the people who make these ads think that in the 21c, connected world we live in, that using a British actor/actress butchering the accent is anything less than naff, if not frankly insulting. Is there not a single French actress in the whole of the UK who couldn’t make the advert feel more ‘authentique’ if they really felt they needed to do follow the French accent voice-over idea that went out of fashion when Nicole and Papa retired. It’s cringeworthy and on all the time. Big Cry Monsieur Le Grenadier

I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list.....

Couldn’t find the ‘grumpy old man’ thread…
Our other car is a Passat GT estate (2019 plate - 2.0 litre 150ps). It’s done 27k miles now and the front tyres have worn to significantly low tread levels and so need replacement ASAP. The wife drives it mostly and she’s no Ayrton Senna.

The OEM ones are Pirelli Cinturato P7 ‘seal inside’ - the ‘seal inside’ being an expensive waste of time IMHO as if it punctures, it’s new tyre time at getting on for £150 a pop fitted (and we’ve already had 2 of them).

27k miles? WTF!

im getting 12k miles on my estate and 6k on the fun car...

I'd say 27k miles is fairly good?

I think that 27k from a front wheel drive on the front tyres is a good result, I get about 15-20k all round on my RWD 1 series BMW and I don't thrash it.

Conversely I got 40k all round on the DEF90 and they had plenty of tread left DEFENDER 90 TDCI XS,

I hope everyone is well and your land rovers make you happy

27k is very good! I had a Volvo 850 r estate back in the day, 250 bhp fwd, worst was 5 k between changes😂
Can you see if other tyres were fitted from new, perhaps to lesser models? I used to be stuck with the horrible run flats on a Cooper s mini until I saw the light and a can of tyre foam..!
