They seem good discounts on LR & eye watering on some of the Toyota products. Thumbs Up

Just got an email from JLR with "up to £7,750 Finance Deposit Allowance" on a Discovery.

That is as useful as an ashtray on a motor bike. Bring back the HCPU.

Does anyone know how much extra tax will be applied to commercials if there is no deal brexit?

I know EU cars will attract 10% more but figures for commercials seem to range from 10-22%. WARNING.

The 3rd seat in the front row is amazingly cool.
The interior height of the box, however, is not Sad

I'm just wondering how one would unmount the hard top and replace it with the soft top ?
If there was a soft top available ...

Any thing is possible with a gas axe, plenty of sailmakers would be able to make you a tilt to cover what is left. It was possible with a Mini Metro so why not a New Defender - you provide the new car I’ll use my non existent skills with the gas axe...... I’m sure somebody like Kahn would be happy to build you one for a bit more money though and it would be way better than anything I could make for you.... shouldn’t mean taking away too much if you look at the body in white!

Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed!

Given that it's a chassis-less unibody design, cutting off the roof would probably be catastrophic. I imagine it would also adversely affect the type approval! Rolling with laughter

On a positive note it may lift a wheel off road less and so help out the hard working traction control. Laughing

Why does he say the new Defender is "sharing it's fixed metal roof with the original" when in the previous 20 seconds he told us the original had a demountable hard top?

He mentions the broad canvas for livery but fails to mention if you get a roofrack with ladder you loose half of that:

"Less expertise and effort required from the driver to exploit the full capabilities of the vehicle" ~ I know where he's coming from, but there are many comments on this forum when trying to explain apparent poor progress in videos to the effect of "he had the wrong settings", "he could have super extended the suspension", "he could have done this or that, in such and such menu". Surely, to get the best out of a complex, highly technical piece of kit, you need to know and understand the systems ~ have more expertise not less?

"Stiffest, toughest chassis" and then "Other cars may seek to hide these underpinnings" and then the best "wears the chassis with pride" ~ perhaps better to hide than misinform. It's a unibody construction, it doesn't have a chassis. It seems JLR think the public associate the word "chassis" with the tough, ruggedness they are selling the vehicle on and this message would be lost with "unibody" or "chassisless".

You can't have your cake and eat it.
