The Safety Devices full cage has an internal hoop in that position, there's no reason it couldn't be installed on its own.

I'm not saying the one you're thinking of is necessarily SD, but the SD one is the only one I know of that fits there.

Just remember internal cages are a common source of injuries. Unless you are strapped into the seat with a harness and wearing a crash helmet.

Hi James
The standalone internal hoop part no. Is RBL115 4SSS-B if you have no headlining and RBL033 4SSS-B with headlining. You change the 4 for a 5 if you want the diagonal strut brace. This can be connected at the top on both sides to an external cage with adapter brackets. This is the same hoop used on the 90’s with a bulkhead removal that was factory on my 50th and I had on the TD5 90 The full internal external 110 cage has a different internal hoop that I suspect has no individual part number. When I got my p38 parts from SD you could get anything that was in a kit individually even if it didn’t have a part number, but that was almost twenty years ago before they changed hands several times. 🙄 |

I have a P&P internal hoop in my 110, it bolts through the roof to mate up with the external bits, but I see no reason why you couldn't use a couple of blank plates on the outside to mount it. It also bolts up the upper seatbelt fixings on the B pillars.
Having said that, I don't know how strong it would be on its own; if you rolled directly onto your roof, maybe OK (although it doesn't have a diagonal so would crush anyway) but if you were sliding along a road on your roof, there'd be no lateral support frontways or backwards (that comes from where it's bolted to the outside bit of the cage. Think you'd be better with a complete internal passenger cage. which I think SD and P&P do. Shout if you want any pics of mine James |
