Agreed. The BAS clamps are lame. I had some more heavy duty versions ‘in stock’. Though
I don’t know the brand, they’re stainless though. |

Another vote for Mikalors Supra in stainless. Easy to fit without distorting due to flip over fastening. Defender 90XS SW

Thanks all. The Hi Torque style worm drive clamps I don’t think are suitable for silicone hoses due to pierced holes in the band. I’ve read a few things that suggest this can cut the hose. Standard Jubilee Clio’s aren’t fully pierced but can’t be tightened so much.
With the Mikalors, how do I spec the size given they have very range of working diameters? 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS |

Find Mikkalors and their copies are terrible as they concentrate the 'clamp' on the bolted side........

To be honest unless you are building a race car then good quality pukka Jubilee's take a lot of beating IMO

I used Westfield fasteners jubilee clips for the silicone hoses on my previous rebuild, they are very good quality and the price was pretty good as well

so what would be the correct clamp size for the BAS silicon hoses?
Forgive my ignorance but I am thinking of replacing my standard hoses as well Regards Dave |

Went standard Jubilee stst. Here's a comparison with the supplied hose clamp. Jubilee at the back. Should be much stronger.

Very interesting ~ not heard of these before. As an aside, it was interesting to watch the video and see the issues they highlighted with silicone hoses. |
