My understanding (might be wrong......) is that the HMRC case is about the company car tax rules and personal benefits rather than VAT as such.......

Both models, 90 & Hardtop, are mentioned in the e-mail.

Yes not VAT related but surely applicable to a hard top where there's personal use? |

But personal use is relevant in any HMRC regs regardless of the classification of the vehicle used.......
I know a couple of guys with logo'd vans that were 'caught' getting shopping in at the local supermarket and had to file P11D (or whatever its called) forms....... |

Yes but there's a large difference in the financial impact between the two.

I'm not going to dispute the actual figure. But that diagram you have posted is not the same as the one Tim did. e.g. clearly showing the length does not include the spare: ![]() |

Not really relevant though is it. The old 90 was a completely different kind of vehicle. |

Mines from the latest brochure, overall length must include the tyre, I would’ve thought. The personal spec brochures give better details of the dimensions ![]() Click image to enlarge |

There is almost no financial gain when buying it to get a commercial version unless you’re VAT registered. Which I’m not. Therefore it would make no sense to me at all to choose the Commercial version Sold the Puma Defender and bought a brand new Pangea Green 2020 Defender D240 S with a few factory extras! |
