Towed a trailer 1500km 110/120 Km/h 24.6 mpg, do not know the weight however I was aware of the load in the 110 Puma and in the trailer! I am going to do it later in the year with an Alive remap so I will let you know before to long.
I just want it to breath clean air.

Obviously people don't care or they wouldn't own one would they, I think people can tell a lot from what mpg they are getting, for instance you don't care, but when you find out you're getting 20mpg on the same route as your mate who's getting 26 mpg then theres something wrong with your set up. Thumbs Up Most people are getting around 26-28 so situation normal I would say. Original Member Pie n Pea Club.

Ohhh dear, a defender is a tool. No a school run car we compare mpg with. I use to hate getting asked what mpg I got! Prob around 10-15 mpg

Just because it's a tool, doesn't mean it's not useful to know if it's working properly. If your MPG suddenly deviates from the 'norm' then it can be a good indictor that something isn't working as it should. Darren

If you're getting 10-15mpg out of your Gaylander then very shortly it's going to be a deadlander and no use for the school run anymore let alone driving up kerbs outside painsbury's Thumbs Up Original Member Pie n Pea Club.

If it's a proper tool, surely its even more important that it's as efficient as possible? Rolling Eyes

My defender did around 10mpg the freelander I don't look cos I don't care and I have a life. Both always start and serve me well. And as to going up kerbs there is none of that Censored or kids.

It prob spends more time being used properly than 85% of people with defenders on here!

I must drive too slow cos I normally get about 420 on a tank full and when I tow the tipping ifor I get 360. Running on mud tyres so they must cause drag. But it's better than our van that does about 280 on a tank full. Don't think we could do much better. I always laugh when people say empty all your kit out. This has to be abit daft how do you know when your going to get stuck. Or need to pull an l200 out. If I took my tools out it might be hard to work.

I suppose if you drive like a complete Censored all the time it is possible to get it that low ......

Interesting that you register on here after selling a Defender and buying a Freelander - why not the Freelander2 forum? John
