I agree and I intend to keep at least one petrol or diesel on the road regardless. However I won't be buying a new diesel anytime soon. The writing is on the wall now and when the music stops I don't want to be stuck with a white elephant on my drive. WARNING.

I'd better buy a new barge pole for our narrowboat!
I hope they're going to electrify all the railway lines as well. |

Sales of eco-friendly cars overtake diesel
Sales of green cars have jumped above diesels for the first time, bolstering claims that traditional fossil-fuel vehicles are in terminal decline. Official figures show that 33,000 pure electric and hybrid cars were registered between April and June, compared with 29,900 diesels. https://www.thetimes.co.uk/edition/news/sa...-dntblxhnz WARNING. Zed that could be down to the fact that some manufactures are not building new diesel versions of certain models anymore. The new Juke that i make parts for, i don't think there is going to be a diesel version, I know there is talk of a hybrid or a electric version.
But i could be wrong. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back Success is 90% Inspiration and 4 minutes Preparation # you can make it! |

I thought political subjects were supposed to be taboo here. I see it’s mentioned the top of this page. Yet again, as is the above posts made here just to annoy existing members here which will almost all be predominantly Diesel Defender owners. $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R

They are going to have to increase the offering of towing capable EV’s and vans then. With the staycation now meaning Caravans and Motorhomes are one of the biggest growth areas in leisure, the offering of EV’s that can tow a big caravan must be almost zero. I think the Tesla is the only pure BEV that can? 1951 80" S1 2.0

Maybe add batteries to the caravan and use to extend the range of EVs? - more weight though. Charged via the solar panel/onsite power feed for the trip home? 1999 Defender TD5 110

Powered trailers?
There's the Rivian for towing, and I think a host of competitors following on it's heels. |

Many caravans now have these motor mover thingies, perhaps they could be upgraded to become full BEV caravans!
