Prop shafts? My rear propshaft seems like it will eventually loose one on the balance weights as it is only spot welded in place and rusting underneath. Have done 350mile, at speeds over 50mph, journey on difflock with front propshaft removed with no ill effects. 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing

My Puma has started vibrating rather badly, feels like the rear prop is working its way loose/to death.
What could I replace it with? Or does it need new UJs? My TD5 does the same, I suspect its the prop too, I've not had it that long but I don't think its the clutch as it doesn't have any signs of slip. |

The answer to nearly every question about Defenders is the propshaft U/Js need replacing.
The first one you ever do takes ages, is dirty and fiddly. After that they’re quite straight forward, once you get the hang of it. Many can’t be bothered, and just buy a new prop as they are quite cheap. 2002 td5 90 county hardtop |
