It certainly is, has to be one of my favourite colour combs, the only other one I prefer is the Berlin cam scheme, however I’d have to by a 90/110 2.5na to support that

Hi, no worries always glad to help out with these, after 14 years of working on them in service and then owning and working on a few as a civvie I keep my hand in.
Talking of which I’m long over due an update on here as I haven’t been active on here at all for far too long, sorry ![]() Timing belt was due so I have found some time to get around to it at last, luckily I haven’t done any driving since it’s been due, only short starts to move it around the yard. So I started by stripping off the timing case and setting the timing, worryingly I found this as I did it ![]() ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge So I’m glad I didn’t risk it by driving it, whilst I have it stripped down I decided to replace all the rubber hoses with black silicone hosing, keeping it looking factory but increasing the reliability since some of these pipes are dated 1997. ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge I found this hose clamp had rusted and snapped, no coolant loss though. ![]() Click image to enlarge With the timing cover off a full clean and paint will be done before refitting, the correct paint is now on order, it’s funny how jobs grow as you go along eh. Other things to do is a new fuel tank as Jas’s has started to leak from the seam. The new tank is here and once work stops getting in the way and I can pick up a few odds and sods from the relevant shops I can get it fitted. 90 wolf - Jasmin http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic39408.html 90 V8 - Maggie http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic42564.html 110 TD5 - Buggsy http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic59029.html 52HG25 lightweight https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic72342.html D3 Hse - Fiona Capri 2l S - Anna Think I might have a problem............ |
