hi all, looking to purchase a new tipping trailer, first time I’ve ever bought new. Probably going for a Brian James trailer, which is in the region of 5.8k + VAT. Should I be able to get a discount on this? I’ve no idea whether it’s car like purchase (negotiate away) or just an off the shelf list price purchase. Any advice gratefully received.
Thanks Nick |

I brought one years ago, was going to buy direct but there are others that resell the trailers and I guess they get a discount and can sometimes pass it on. When you decided what trailer, see if you can find anybody with one in stock, you may get a discount and get it quicker. Searching for my first Defender...and started just as Covid hit, so talk about timing.
5 months after starting the search I found it, and here is the details |

That sounds steep unless prices have rocketed over the last 12 months.

I struggled to get a discount on a Brian James cargo connect a few years ago. Even the mesh sides and other BJ bits I added were at full list. Best I got were some other shop goodies, a new tow hook and discounted wheel clamp.
Having said that, I wrecked the jockey wheel when it slipped out of the clamp on the motorway ~ rang BJ direct to whinge about the crap clamping mechanism (the dealer had warned me also) and they sent me a new one foc. |

Afternoon
You will struggle to get much, if any discount on a Brian James Trailer, The dealer will get a when found out and potential to lose their dealership , but as said, there are other ways to "Add Value" A new one ordered today, will be delivered, with luck in December, They currently are on 24/7 working, Use BJTs configuration https://www.brianjames.co.uk/trailer-range/cargo-tipper2/, for the model you want, and options, it will then give you a list of dealers with one in stock I have 5 tippers to go out before 2nd week of September California F1, 75th 110 "Kermit", 50th Ann V8, 90 V8 Hybrid, 55 Series 1 Main Brian James Trailer Dealer for South West UK |
