Sorry to revisit this topic but I'm about to service my 2.4 TDCI I've all ways bought filters etc from Land Rover which again is what I've done this time. When it comes to oils for Engine Transfer box Gearbox and Axles I have normally just used Comma which is what the local motor factors keeps in stock. Just wondering what other people are using I was wondering about ordering online from Morris this time?
http://www.whatoildoineed.com/ Not sure as it suggests normal EP 80-90 for the transfer box I am used to a thinner SX 75-90 from the comma range? Should I just stick to the comma or does anyone have a better solution. Ps I want to buy in bulk as I have two vehicles to service and want to swap out all oils. Cheers |

I just spoke to the super helpful people at Opie oils for most of it. They recommended a few engine ones in different price ranges, all of which are compatible, but suggested motul gear 300 for all the axles bits.
Bought genuine everything from lr parts as a service kit. Well worth it. |

All the options on gearbox ,transfer box and diffs are well covered here. Also how to go about changing them https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic8707.html
I used Fuchs 'Titan' for the Transfer box (2.4litres) Castrol 'Syntrans' for the Gearbox (2.2Litres) Castrol Axle 'EPX' for the Diffs (1.6Litres per Diff) See page 2 on link, superspoons post. All from opie Re engine. Mine is a 2.2 with dpf and I always use Millers Oils XF Longlife C1 5W30 - High Performance Synthetic Low SAPS Engine Oil. But not from opie as is cheaper from others. Ps. Opie have a discount code on here, and do special discounts every now and then. Filters I use gen landrover and get a discount from my local dealer so not a bad price. |

Yes. As above. Engine oil (mine is a 2.2 dpf) and an everything else oil. Motul 300.
Cost a tenner more but it's made a massive difference. I bought a job lot for a discount and always have a few liters in the garage for a top up. |
