Then really seems to be something in the harness. Unless something else is drawing a lot of current, and once you connect the C2518 gets the amps above the fuse rating. I think automotive fuses are quite slow fuses (take long time to blow) so I doubt the latter case.

I know the harness is going along the left hand side of the main gearbox. Grommets through openings, like the box underneath the seat are intact. Possible that there is an internal shortage between wires inside the harness?
Was there any work to the truck done that could have upset the harness fixing points? 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing

Have you got a code reader?

Check live data to see what Engine sensor inputs are missing.

Hopefully your code reader doesn’t need the engine running to view this data. If I get a chance later I will check mine.

Not sure if a code reader will work here. As I understand the OP problem is that the fuse will blow as soon as he puts the key to 'Ignition' position, before trying to turn the engine over.
Although he also mentioned earlier that the fuse blows after 10seconds. Maybe he was checking some parts of the harness, and moving the harness made whatever the problem is, it being a short or something, worse. 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing

The Nanocom will not work due to the fuse blowing out immediately.

The first time I could start the car and then after 10sec it blows. Thereafter immediately...

Mus be somewhere in the main harness but I cannot feel or see anything....

Anyhow, ADAC ( German AA) now organise a transport back to Germany... within 1-3 weeks.

If this was your holiday, then it is a very disappointing way to end.

When the truck is back hime, what I would do is probe pins on C2518 but with each sensor disconnected. For sensors with 2 wires, it is easy just one check and make sure circuit is open. On sensors with 3 wires or more, you have to check on all combinations.

The problem is if it is a short between one sensor wire to another sensor wire. The combinations for that check is quite lengthy.

Since you cannot see anything obvious, then I doubt if it is a short to ground, but worth checking each pin on C2518 to ground as well. 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing
