McDonalds ‘Restaurants’.

Think about this one.
If you went into a proper restaurant and they’d served you the same quality of food as McDonalds do, I’m sure you would not be paying the bill.

The amount of litter they produce from deadheads who bung it out of the window, is a real issue.

I had a bit to say on my fb page, when McD’s opened up after lockdown and there were traffic jams due to people queuing to buy their flat burgers and soggy under-cooked fries....
One friend said they had been and queued, because it was a nice ‘treat’.

A treat?

Boats. I’ve spent the last 10 days, 11 hours and 14 minutes on a boat. A big boat in some respects, a 57ft Trader. Not my boat I hasten to add but owned by my in laws, and all the baggage that comes with it.

New it was £1m. something. It is now 16 years old and everything is starting to crap out. The house batteries are fubar, so the fridge/freezer doesn’t work unless the generator is on. The water maker has crapped out so we need to go ashore and bring in water for the toilet, shower, washing up etc. The kitchen sink was blocked for several days, but some delicate work on the outlet with a wire coat hanger did the trick. One of the toilets today got blocked and my wife decided to stick the same wire coat hanger down it to try and unblock it. It’s and electric mascerator. £150 lighter someone came out and had sorted it.

I’m grumpy because I’ve got a tonne of work on, my 4G hotspot on the boat drops out every 30 mins and needs to be reconnected and frankly I don’t like boats. They aren’t designed for anyone over hobbit size. My head resembles a 3D map of Snowdonia.

Coming ashore to take a Censored also gets tired after a while. And the seating on the boat, despite its size just isn’t comfortable at all. The only DVD on the boat is Norman Wisdom....

I’m going home tomorrow. Mrs H is taking it personally but it’s a work / boat nause headache. Getting a days work done and dealing with boat / child admin is impossible.

First world issues I freely admit, but I’m
keen to get home and see the hounds, have a walk around and escape the Henry / Toby / Rufus brigade that some place in Devon attracts.

Grumpy over.....

The great thing about boats is they just show you how little grief and heartache owning a Land Rover is Thumbs Up

/\ True Rashers. It’s either your thing or it’s not. Spending a tonne of cash on a floating caravan that does 1 gallon to the mile isn’t mine 😁

Depends how big the “boat” is - my last one in February was only 292m long x32m wide with 15m draft and we had 5 engineers and an electrician onboard as fixers! Only $100,000,000 worth.......... Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come

Probably get a good deal on a cruise ship these days if you were in the Market for one Whistle

Our local newspaper (sorry, I am always going on about their amateur journalism) got a photo of a cruise ship moored off Southwold with the headline ‘why is this cruise ship moored off Southwold?’. I expect that this journalist has been in a coma for six months if they needed to write a headline like that Rolling Eyes Some of the reader responses in the comments were fantastic

Some one was quoted as saying that a cruise ship is a giant floating Petrie Dish Shocked

Local journalists are the gift that keeps giving. I honestly think a lot of what they write is clickbait. It has to be, doesn’t it? 😬

I fail to see how anybody can think that going on holiday with friends or family and living on a boat, is a good idea.

How many canal-boat holidays have ended in ruined friendships?

I thought you were warned against that kind of thing at school, along with drugs and alcohol....

Canoeing with a fellow Land Rover enthusiast on the other hand, is quite enjoyable.
