Easily removable doors..Pah, that's no big deal. People regularly remove doors and bonnets from Defenders. Even in complete darkness.

Removing defender doors is a nightmare. The nuts of the front hinges tend to fall off and you never see them again. It takes considerable amount of bad words to replace the nut if you are in the field.

My 30 years old wrangler has 1 13mm nut per door. That is easy. Defender 110 SW MY2011 2.4tdci decat, no EGR
Jeep Wrangler YJ 1990 4.0. Front 78' Dana 60, Rear CUCV 14 bolt

Door removal does appear to leave a couple of nasty looking accidents waiting to happen:

Ford design chief to design team: "So the new Defender has exposed bolts, what can we do that's better?"

Member of team: " Exposed bolts... with our name on"

Round of applause.

I am surprised in this politically-correct age that the new one has the optional feature for ogling the legs of chicks in the Bronco, but I like the thinking behind it! Rolling with laughter

Actually a blatant copy of this concept.
Jeep owners have moaned ever since that the doors didn't make it to production.

Another Defender alternative watch and learn Mr McGovern
McGovern should take a long hard look and see what a real "Designer" can do!

I'm sure Ford would have liked to produce an EV version but they are playing catchup at the moment. Their deals with Rivian and VW will no doubt bear fruit at some point. WARNING.
