It feels like it’s tanking at birth. I haven’t seen so many of a new LR product listed available for immediate delivery on Autotrader. I know it’s Covid but they are 10 a penny.
Fascinating to watch used values on it. I think we will see it do slightly better than a D5 but not much. I bet the GFV’s on a PCP are not what they initially predicted. Could this be the next model to pull LR down further? I mean you look through all the different ones on Trader and I still haven’t seen a spec that looks good. 1951 80" S1 2.0 1995 110 300TDI 1995 90 300TDI |

Problem is, well within my dealer at least, they are mainly £50k+ and specs that not a lot of people want. I mean first edition models are limited colour choice, the only decent ones the Green. They would seriously have to discount them before I’d consider one. EDIT- Looks like they are offering £5k discounts on some of them. |

TBH the range of colours isn’t great regardless of the version. No choices of solid colours and especially no solid green or Solid blue which have always been a popular traditional colours. none of the demo cars I’ve seen on forecourts has had white steel wheels and white roof, but loads of “Gangsta” wagons with big wheels, black on black with back windows and interior. Very 2!st century “dislikes” !
The keyless entry can be very hit and miss, sometimes you have to stand very close to the door, certainly less than 0.5m before the car detects the fob yet other times it is the the claimed 1.5m away. Maybe not such a bad thing in view of “grabbers” that crooks use. The “buttons” don’t bother me but the dimples on the door handles of my last RRS were better. The problem I’ve had is sometimes it can be difficult to trigger the dead locking with the second press of the button regardless of whether it’s the door handle button or the button on the fob, it doesn’t always engage so you really have to listen out for the quick beep audible confirmation that deadlocks have engaged. Secure stowage and boot space - he doesn’t say whether his car is a 5 seat or 7 seat - mine is 5 seat and where the 3rd row seats would be there is a vast hidden stowage area and what on earth does he want to carry that needs a bigger boot, it is vast in 5 seat versions. I would add another 2 tiny dislikes 1 - the tailgate softclose, the door looks like it is already closed before the softclose engages leading to people trying to slam the tailgate shut instead of just gently pushing up to about 5mm from the door latch and leaving it to self close. 2 - Carpet footwell mats - the front passenger foot mat compLetely covers the entire foot well, drivers side ends before the pedals so any mud / snow/ wet on your shoes/ boots drips off under the tiny bit of foot mat that is there and stays under the carpet mat, ready to smell awful in a few days time. It maybe that JLR is worried about a repeat of the L320 RRS issue of a few years ago when using the incorrect RRS mats could prevent the brake pedal going down....... It’s the same system on the Velar, never use it, always use the key. Either touch a button on the door or press a button on the fob. Not much use IMO.
Having said that though, hates a bit strong a word, perhaps minor annoyances. |

Interesting results ~ not sure if it says more about the app than the vehicle. I'd expect JLR's quoted figures to have been obtained from some quite expensive kit and so be accurate.
A difference from 7.7 to 6.6 seems quite large. The fact that Drive, Sport and Eco modes all made no difference was also a little odd but there doesn't appear to be anything in the iGuide that explains what the difference between the 3 settings actually are? |
