Good looking team. I’m the same this year, we haven’t put any birds down on the little syndicate I’m in, but we might get a few wild days and I’m hoping to be able to find some local shoots to do a bit of beating and picking up.

I wouldn’t worry about the sparrows. I have friends with picking up team of cockers and they manage the cock pheasants even through to the end if the season. Just give it time, even spanner’s work it out in the end!! Haha. |

She’s a canny little
 , I’m sure she will work it out.
It is going to be a funny season, smaller days which I think are a good thing, and in all likelihood no shortage of pickers up or beaters post lockdown. I’m going to put a few birds down at home just to do a bit of rough shooting on the odd Saturday morning, have a couple of friends over and a walk around followed by a couple of beers. |

my excuse for having the 130 was due to having two dogs and the 110 wasnt big enough.... Cheers

With so many people owning dogs, I was wondering who fed theirs on a raw meat diet?
I have a friend who I supply with fresh venison for her dogs while the game dealers are shut, and she is always raving on about how much better it is for them. Does anyone else subscribe to this thought? I have no idea either way, just wondering what percentage of owners did? |

No I don’t feed either of our Labradors on raw meat, but there seems to be a growing trend towards this thought
I was planning to ask the Vet when we took them for the jabs, but it was done with social isolation so I never got the chance. It is alleged that a raw meat diet can stop or at least limit the amount of fatty lumps Labs seem to get as they get older. I don’t know how much is the meat and how much may be the lack, or limitation of grain in their diets? Interesting to know if any one else knows? |

I have had four labs over the years. All fed on the cheapest dried food I can find normally webbox from home bargain. First one died at 17 in his sleep. Second at 14 in his sleep. No vet visits or major health problems. Both happy healthy dogs. Third is 14 years old and going very strong and fourth is 6 and just a pup. They live outside and I feel this is the key as they can drink and urinate as often as needed. I have nothing to compare the dried food to but it works for me and my dogs.

I feed my golden doodle raw meat ( woof! woof!)
When he came home from the dogs trust he was quite anxious and had diarrhoea so I put him on a rice and boiled chicken diet as advised by the vet. This made it worse so was told he is probably alergic to chicken. Was prescribed some Royal Canin Sensitive dog food which helped a bit but when I eventually tried raw, his stomach was the happiest. He has been on raw food for some time now. I give him 80, 10, 10 as advocated by BARF (British Association for Raw Feeding or something similar). This is 80% raw meat, 10% raw offal and 10% raw bone. His poos are tiny on raw food. |
