I've had an intermittent problem with the abs/tc set up on my Td5 110 for quite a while. Mine was a poverty spec 2002 model but was bought new by Thames Valley Police hence the extras, the problem would really show up in the wet and eventually the lights were on all the time. I suspected an electrical fault but as we all know they're pretty difficult to find.
My old Nanocom 1 told me that the fault lay with the NSF sensor and I could "cure" the fault by tapping the sensor down into the swivel pin and the light would stay off for weeks but that wasn't working towards the end. I upgraded my Nanocom as it was starting to suffer with buttons not working and being able to connect to a laptop and with the Nanocom Evo tou can measure the voltage from each wheel sensor. You could immediately see a discrepancy in the voltage to the NSF but when I was wriggling the cable it would go back to the same voltage as the other sensors. By a process of elimination , bridging the wires on the socket on the inner wing, full voltage, so the problem was the cable to the sensor. New sensor ordered as when I wriggled the cable on the top of the sensor I found where the problem was, doing a cut and shut on the wires just where they pass into the sensor body is not an easy job a new sensor was needed. I found all this a couple of months ago at the start of lockdown, trouble is that then I put a zip tie to hold the cable in a position where it works and it hasn't put a foot wrong ever since, the new sensor and cable was delivered but is still in my Spares Box in the back! |

ABS relay is one of the two 70A type relays under the seat. I should have got a bit wetter and pointed it out to you

You should search the net for Rave disc. Then you have all the workshop manuals and electric libraries.

I have the workshop manual and the parts manual in hardcopy plus the Haynes manual for the TD5. i'll see what I can find on the web as you suggest - I am going slightly round the bend trying to find the part number for the ABS pump relay. |
