It looks like an after market cubby /armrest possibly with a amp under it? it does appear to block the cup holder. Mine doesn't and its a std bottom part? Have you a picture of the cubby? Jack etc, check under passenger seat if those bases remove as you have a cubby under each seat. The passenger one has more room with the battery in there, I have the bottle jack and jump leads etc in there. Then I have a pelican case in the rear with tow ropes, gloves, torch, sockets, etc etc |

Some of the 'specialist' re-fits can screw up the less than ideal ergonomics. That looks like a Bespoke conversion? Rgds.

Ah thanks for the reply! Yeh it’s an aftermarket cubby, there’s a sub in the back, and the cubby is capped under the lid so I assume there’s an amp in there too. I’ll take a picture for you. |

That’s a big cubby
Depending on how long it is, you may be able to move it backwards. It’ll just be bolted onto the transmission tunnel. EDIT - just seen it’s got a sub on the back. Compromise between cupholder access and passenger legroom  2012 110 XS SW Orkney Grey

the cubby is held in place (well the original anyway) with 4 bolts, it would be an easy job to relocate them, the panel under the box is removable too

Aaaahh perhaps it’s just normal size then and the previous owner shifted it forward to give more rear leg room. Thanks for the tip!

The standard position for the cubby box just clears the transfer box lever:

I had to move mine back when I fitted an under-cubby safe. 2nd row middle seat rarely used, so no great loss. Dogs don't seem to mind either!

Your centre consul is certainly custom and looks to be 30-50mm further forward than standard may also be a little higher, take off and see the ICE kit that has caused this to relocate if possible. Wrench and Jack (standard issue bottle jack) are normally under the passenger seat. A move to an upgraded bottle jack (typical) or a double install battery system often sends the bottle jack into the main cabin...somewhere. Wrench and jack are put by factory in the box under the left seat. And as others have noted, that ain't no standard cubby box. That far forward is even too far for the ordinary landrover production tolerances  , so most probably custom made. It also seems higher and what is that odd strap in the front, can the box be opened forward? The cushion on top is also not Defender'ish - much too comfy. Never forget: cars have owner, Landrover have field service personnel. |

There is a Bespoke 90 that lives near to me, walking past it earlier and having a peek, it's the cubby box arrangement that they use that is the issue. Rgds.
