Not done it yet, but I will seal it to the bulkhead. Initial impressions are it's better than nothing (currently). Rgds. Chris |

Lots of defender owners are happy to be taken for a ride price wise for parts.......... but that lr bespoke piece of rubber does stop a lot of water from water flooding the footwell......... the stuff you have sourced looks a decent enough replacement!

The OEM rubber fits so it’s inner edge covers the bolt head that’s gone rusty and is tight to the bulkhead . No doubt water has been saturating that bolt due to the missing rubber, hence its condition. Mines fine yet I’ve still given that bolt a good soaking with acf50. But also considering some silicon to make a proper seal to the bulkhead. Noting you need to use the correct silicon as general building / bathroom silicon eats into metal as it’s acidic. The stuff they use on windscreens is good and does not set hard so easy to remove and reseal after if needed. |

Used some silkoline on mine and now it’s leak free...well except when I park with the N/S/F wheel as the lowest point...so I don’t,
