Windscreen vent pressings on a Puma - they couldn’t even be arsed to sort out a new bulkhead panel

What about modifying something like this?
https://www.rubberonline.com.au/extrusions...25mm-p103/ Could possibly trim the 'D' shaped rubber to suit. $12.60 AUD (£6.80) per meter. |

It's not, it's for a towing electrics socket. It's nothing to do with a PTO. Darren 110 USW BUILD THREAD - EXPEDITION TRAILER - 200tdi 90 BUILD THREAD - SANKEY TRAILER - IG@landroveranorak "You came in that thing? You're braver than I thought!" - Princess Leia |

Except the genuine tow kits use a separate bracket, as far as I know there’s never been a kit which is designed to fit there! 1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

That's true, although the socket does fit. I've often wondered if it was one of those things that seemed like a good idea at the design stage but then when the towing kit was developed they thought, sod it, it'll be easier to install if we just include a simple plate.
Regardless though, it's definitely not anything to do with a PTO. Darren 110 USW BUILD THREAD - EXPEDITION TRAILER - 200tdi 90 BUILD THREAD - SANKEY TRAILER - IG@landroveranorak "You came in that thing? You're braver than I thought!" - Princess Leia |

Correct, not PTO related as my 1988 90 has no hole and it wouldn’t have been reintroduced:) 1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

Why do you say that? It does its intended job extremely well, even if it seldom gets used for its intended job. |

Hi black wolf.....I don't know about your truck but on mine it has the power of a mini black hole to attract crud ,salt water and therefore is a rust magnet. I know most rust on the crossmember starts internally where the chassis is attached but my view the gaping hole does not help.

There's actually a group buy thread going on for those things at the moment. However I can honestly say that the recess isn't particularly a rust trap on mine, there are many places far worse for it. I do like having the trailer socket well protected and they seem to last a lot longer in the recess.
