"Zagged" a new black 110 Thumbs Up I met the owner at a village fete a couple of weeks ago. He was horrified when I said I could pin point rust on his new Defenders body even before I had seen the vehicle but it's all sorted now, treated and protected Thumbs Up

Have to say It's very satisfying treating someones pride and joy Very Happy Might get some discreet "This vehicle was Zagged" on such a date stickers, to put somewhere hidden inside if I am ever in the market for a second hand one Wink

A basic 110 pick up for work......drool!! The trouble with having the Puma is that you realise how uncomfortable (crashing ride, wet, cold, no brakes etc!) the Series is to drive everyday. I keep a towel to dry the drivers seat when it rains though the door tops, gloves as the heater doesn't work, a scraper for ice on the inside of the windscreen in winter, wet wipes for my hands from the sticky steering wheel in summer and an anchor I throw out when I want to stop Shocked It's still great to drive though Thumbs Up

Just returned from a week in the Conwyn vally saw loads of PUMAs both farm hacks and tourers as well as lots of other landies, classic cars etc etc. Now upto 1900 miles and not missed a beat yet, rear seat passenger was quite happy with comfort even on 3 hr journey there and back sat at 70mph on the motorway most happily and can talk without shouting. £60 of diesel only does 280 miles! will give it a mega clean today then back in the garage till the next holiday New Forest and Salisbury in October

that works out at 30mpg which, from the many posts on fuel economy here, is very good - particularly at motorway speeds. I'll be well happy if my 110 gets anywhere near that

Finally got my DC up onto ramps (well, front up onto ramps, anyway!), and got to work with my Dinitrol kit! Took about 4 hours or so once all sorted and ready to start spraying, but feel a good job's been done Thumbs Up

Once you get under there, there's an awful lot to spray, isn't there! Feels good now though.......don't want to have to do too many of them, what a mucky job. Fair play to Rejel's though, in the box came a full disposable overall (including hood), shoe covers, dust mask & loads of rubber gloves. Felt like I was a crime scene scientist for a while! Smile

Anyway, bring on the rain/snow/salt!! *

Yesterday, my trusty reliable 300 TDi decided to be not so reliable! Big Cry Went to post office, jumped back in 110 started it, moved off about two metres and it stalled got it back Kerberos side and tried to restart it. Cranked over ok but lots of White smoke from exhaust so it was recovery time back to Four Plus 4 in Leeds.

Barbara and her daughter was there looking at 90's for daughter.

First time in 14 years I have had engine problems with our overland vehicle.

Tested it's urban off-road ability trying to catch two scruffy little c*nts who threw a box of eggs at it... Driving up the road, hear a load of thunks and see some gooey egg yolk smearing it's way down the side. Did a super quick U turn and caned it back down the road, saw two people run off down a side street so went flying down after them, only to find it a dead end with a small-ish kerb at the end. They ran past there and slowed down obviously thinking I wouldn't follow...... WRONG!!!

Unfortunately they split up and I lost them. Would love my fist to meet their faces with the same force the eggs hit my only-just-cleaned and polished car Banging Head Banging Head Banging Head

Found a police goof driving around aimlessly, told him and got 'Oh there's nothing we can do, we'll just drive past the area and see if we can see anyone...'

Effin useless!!!!!!!

Looks like two direct hits left it's mark on the paintwork... Just going to douse it in spurty spurty wash-without-water-carnuba-stuff and hope there's not too much lasting damage....

unwrapped my wheels and inflated the tyres to 30psi front anf 42 rear. I think I need to invest in one of those plug in inflators as 500 ish pumps per tyre wasn't fun. Noticed the BFGs have the mountain/snowflake symbol on them which is great considering the last two Winters here and the fact that our Defender doesn't have ABS or TC.
I then gave the boosts a coat of polish as it will never be that easy again ! Sprayed copper grease on the back to stop them sticking to the hubs and then noticed that one of them hadn't been balanced although a strip of weights had been 'helpfully' left in the packaging
So its off to the tyre fitters tomorrow to get one wheel balanced. It takes up the entire boot (with seats folded down !) of my 107

Not long til Wednesday........

Surprisingly easy, yes mate. Thanks for the recommendation where to get the kit from too! Didn't know what to expect when I first started spraying, but was pleasantly surprised how it went on, and chuffed to bits with the way it looks, too!

Cheers matey Thumbs Up Mark
