My take on the fitting of the V8 engine. It'll go that fast you won't see what it looks like. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

Not to my taste all over Black, but it is All in the eyes of the beholder.
Now can they make a VANTA Black version? |

On this evening’s ride I’ve seen 997.1 GT3, C7 RS6, Aston DBX, but only pic possible was this Defender which is still cool being short wheel base (a much rarer spot) and gangsta/Cheshire spec. What do you think? Will it sell? https://t.co/AwVt2mqCzW https://twitter.com/andrewjchapple/status/...10850?s=20 Click image to enlarge |

Nice but all black isn’t for me. Mines will be Tasman Blue/white roof/white steels
Interesting that very few of the 90s that have been spotted have the optional “signature graphic” |

Maybe people are not prepared to stump up £150 for a square of 4mm plastic sheet that also ruins the view out of the rear seats............ Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed! |

LR made a big thing of it so I would’ve thought that LRs own cars would’ve had it fitted.

I had no idea they were still making them in 2020. Perhaps it's a bit like the old Toyota Land Cruisers that are still available in Africa.

I had a strange experience yesterday. I was online chatting with a local bike shop, the guy was very helpful but was taking ages to reply, he apologised and explained he had 5 chats on the go. I thought fair enough and asked his name so I could get back to him. He then says he was just helping out and was back to his proper job, so if you want a Land Rover just let him know. Turns out he works for Marshalls JLR Peterborough. We then had a one to one immediate conversation for ages about the new Defender. He was absolutely raving about, said it was amazing to drive.
I was impressed with his enthusiasm for the new model. Maybe it will take us all for surprise. Let me guess, it was a sales guy. Acting 'enthusiastic' is in the mandatory part of the job description. But, once they believe themselves, their mental health is in danger ... let's see and wait what (y)our own experience will tell. Never forget: cars have owner, Landrover have field service personnel. |

How many currently employed LR salesmen have ever sold a Defender 'classic'? Sales has a high turnover of staff and it's been nearly 5 years.
I'd be enthusiastic if I'd spent the last year or so trying to sell the Disco 5 and the ageing Evoque. |

Mine. I’ve dealt with him for years, he’s enthusiastic about the brand in general.
The ageing Evoque? The car that brought LR back from the brink, the car that up until the new one was still selling like hot cakes and the new one continues to sell well. |

Evoque launched in 2011, LR at that time had been bailed out by the British government the Evoque sales alone allowed LR to pay it back. It’s only the past couple of years LR have made losses, in fact up until the covid outbreak LR were slowly returning to profit. |
