Gawd that looks worse than a silver one.......but should go down well with the funeral industry..........
There is a Readers Test Team of the D240 110 in the new edition of What Car? Magazine for June. They actually picked people who have owned or still own various Defenders Discoveries and Series cars to give their opinion - two things in the review stick out a) all bar one reviewer comments that the side opening rear door is no good for any one who tows and it should have had a lifting tailgate to get around that And it would have allowed a wider load opening too. b) A couple of the reviewers own Disco 5’s and will be swapping out of them to the New Defender as it is more like their beloved Disco 3 or 4 just bigger and the Disco5 is just too luxury and too expensive for utility work! Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come 2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed! |

Kingsley Holgate is a Land Rover Ambassador - so I suspect he gets what he's given for free, which is probably whatever suits the marketing team in terms of countering issues that the D5 is too soft...

i do like the black, but it would be a complete nut job to keep the thing looking half decent.. black just attracts crap/dust milliseconds after its been given a clean..especially Santorini yet another pommie bar steward down under MY20 110 P400 SE Defender MY10 3.0 RR Sport |

So Zilch, LR needs to offer a Beige shade to hide the micro-scratches filled with dust......__. Based on the discounts I have heard mentioned in various posts on the site, I would have thought a Disco5 probably comes in cheaper than a Defender 110. Plus, I don't really see new Defender as being suitable for utility work, except by those with very deep pockets and no concern over bashing and dinting their pride and joy. |

Plenty used their D4s for work, I don’t see the new Defender being any different. The D5 feels fragile but the new Defender feels pretty solid inside.

my old silver RRS had plenty of bush stripes Tim, you just had to look closely, the dust was your friend and usually blended quite well, maybe bring zermatt back at the same time yet another pommie bar steward down under MY20 110 P400 SE Defender MY10 3.0 RR Sport |

That's quite a lengthy watch, but there were some interesting points made and I think it was quite an honest unbiased view.
Will have to look out for the review of new vs classic the Overland guy says is coming, hopefully soon. |
