At that price I would expect the correct wheels and tyres!

It is nice, though, and in the USA it is possible that it will sell at that price.

The US market for old Defenders is very different from elsewhere. Darren

England 2012 Defender 90 Puma 2.2 SW Indus Silver
The regulations for importing Land Rover Series and particularly Defenders are apparently insanely complicated in the States.

Only "federalized" Defenders can be imported and driven, meaning the ones that were built in the years that the car was sold on the US market (1993, 94, 95 and 97 - but not 96) or, the vehicle is over 25 years old.

US forumites, forgive me if I´ve got any of that wrong.

Either way, they are far rarer and more sought after than here in Europe or the UK. There are many updated (Puma look) vehicles offered there, but the iconic and classic models are most sought after.

However, a quarter of a million Dollars still seems rather optimistic. 1998 Tdi 90 SW,

that is correct. 25 years or older for import, and needs to have same engine that was installed in factory (2.5, petrol, etc). It will certainly fetch that price. $100K or more for a well sorted defender is not too far out of line. The average D90 NAS from 94, 95, or 97 is probably $50K-$70k, and 1993 110 is $65-85K. Some of the boutique shops like ECD, Himalaya, and others fetch well over $100K all day long. Most with LS swaps and now Cummins R2.8. We are certainly jealous of what your prices fetch over there. Thumbs Up
