I have been in military units where I have serviced a land rover and then serviced it again 6 months or a year later and they have not been driven between services. It all depends on which unit had it and what their operational commitment was.

I bought an ex TA Reserve 110 with 16,000 Kms (10,000 miles) on her - absolutely mint - dry stored and what can only be described as being in time warp condition.

I worked at raf Waddington for a few years and seen land rovers come in from the factory parked up and still be there not moved or touched for months at a time sometimes less than 50 miles a year in some cases . I recall a new wolf less than two days old been written of too it was rolled on the a1

All the recent sales art Brightwells were unwarranted mileage, which to me is surprising really given that maintenance is well documented as far as I am aware, but not an expert by any means

Mileage on military wagons is often miss recorded, it’s getting better but still not perfect. Major anomalies occur with two common things, one being FFR vehicles might have low mileage but they can run for days non stop on a high idle keeping the batteries for the radios charged, second the army can swap major assemblies; engines, gearboxes, axles etc and this can often be incorrectly recorded or not at all, thirdly some of the “mechanics” I use this word very loosely having worked with some people are not the best at diagnosing faults and can swap things like a whole speedo unit when it’s nothing more than a loose cable. 90 wolf - Jasmin http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic39408.html
