How big are the holes? It isn't very clear from the pictures.
The easiest way would be to put a sealed rivet in each hole (if the holes are small) or something like a roofing bolt if they are bogger, with sealant, then paint over them. The heads would be visible, but I would think not very conspicuous. If you want a near-invisible repair, you'll have to feather the holes, bond a backing panel to the inside, then fill, sand and paint. There was a recent thread discussing options for filling rivet holes from chequer plate on a bonnet on the forum, when similar techniques were discussed. |

Hi Blackwolf- thanks so much for your reply- sounds like I may have to put a backing plate on as I think they are quite large. Never used rivets as yet as I’m new but seems like it’s something I need to get my head around.
Have attached some more photos with a pen for scale! Will also look up that other thread- thanks for your help Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Keswick green 2007 Defender 90 TD5 |

Looks like there was a beacon mounted on the roof.

Would fitting one of those self watering features - a sunroof, be a solution, one hole instead of six?
Just an idea. |

Have done similar recently, albeit not on the roof. It’s not as hard as I thought. Topic here:
