I would imagine that come trade in time having the extra cost of the air suspension on the base model might not recover that outgoing at part exchange time unless it is with the OffRoad Pack and towing pack options along with the other things that that brings which appeal more to those who want to tow or go more seriously off road than 99% of the people that JLR is marketing to. I’m considering a 110 D240 SE now with the Off Road pack, towing packages , pano roof and the winch. I contracted land rovers chat on the configuration and adding the winch pack would not delay the build as it is a dealer fit item.......... not sure I want the workshop apprentice dismantling the front end of my brand new car and messing it up I thought that they had to be a factory fit option as the weight must affect the CO2 emissions....... Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come 2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed! Last edited by Tim in Scotland on 5th May 2020 5:40am. I thought it would be easier to fit it during build rather than have the car stripped down by a dealer.
Fitting instructions for it http://accessories-instructions.landrover....r/G2409788 Originally I was going 110 as my head said that’s the more practical one to go for but really the 90 is all I need. Spoke with my salesman, he said the the same air doesn’t add any real worth to car. So at the moment I’ll stick with coils, it will get it’s wheels dirty but nothing that will push it to the limits. |

I wonder what he's based that on? The only previous model that had coils as an option was the D3, which was never a big seller, as far as I'm aware. They were certainly less ought after second hand, once it became apparent how good the air suspension was. Darren

So far orders he’s had is all on coils, nobody seems to think air is worth paying £2k for and definitely won’t get anywhere near that come trade in. Having had various Discos I know how good air is but still think £2k is steep.

With all the warrantee work the JLR dealers have to do I am sure stripping down the front on the new Defender to fit the winch then put it all back together again will be child's play....
Hopefully they will give you the bag of leftover fittings they forgot to refit.. |

I’m more worried about the Ikea style assembly instructions and the fact that a job time of say 6 hours will take several days and stretch out to several weeks when they find a vital part missing from the fitting kit is on back order......... got to love the Land Rover ikea style fitting instructions, I first encountered them with the rear ladder on my D3, the remote park heat ones are hilarious. 110 MY23.5 X Dynamic HSE

Puzzles me on all the measuring & cutting of a piece of foam. When you consider the main dealer 's labour rate, it must be cheaper (and a better outcome) to just get the part precut and included in the kit?

1) I wonder what winch it is that fits in there... bet nothing as good as a Husky 8000
2) Love the adhesive/stickyback tape to refit bits of the front end Did they run out of bluetac? |

Would pay good money to see the Ineos Grenadier driving over the top of a couple of these abominations.
