The 2 calliper bolts, ( 13mm 12point ) at the rear. The upper one is impossible to get out because of the spring. What size socket is needed please. ( Length )

Do you run out of bite due to heat or run out of servo assistance with repeat braking?
If the former than you need means of disapting the heat better. If latter then you need a bigger servo. Do brakes start off with good bite? Cheers James 110 2012 XS Utility 130 2011 M57 bespoke Camper 90 2010 Hardtop 90 M57 1988 Hardtop |

Ive just fitted the LOF powerspec kit on mine (the rears going in tomorrow) and the quality is fantastic, there are really good reviews around with them and they are priced very well too 2016 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 TDV8

assuming your callipers are in good order then new vented drilled / grooved discs all round with a higher temp brake pad will improve things. more so when the brakes are warm
Downsides are noise when cold sometimes plus faster pad wear. you can upgrade to higher temp brake fluid which helps as well but isn't cheap. bigger callipers up front and bigger discs work better but are far from cheap. swapping the servo is possible as well but again a lot of work and cost if you compare to fast road cars then i tend to keep std callipers and upgrade the fluid and pads and whn the discs wear out fit better quality and spec ones Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge |

I recently swapped my original 1995 calipers for 4 pot vented 110 calipers and a nice new set of 2 pot calipers on the back. Due to lockdown I haven’t been able to bed them in properly yet, but it’s made a huge difference.
It may be because the inside pots on the calipers weren’t even causing the pads to contact the disks 😅 |

Yep one piece new. Super tit I am. Shouldn't have taken the pipe out at all. Should've kept it and calliper together and simply tied it up outa the way. Hindsight is a great thing eh. I don't have the tools or parts so it's off to the repair garage, oh and a bill

Hello Keith, For the unenlightened amongst us (me), what went wrong there? For the life of me I'm not seeing the problem in the photo, no doubt it will be obvious once you point it out. 2005 Td5 90 XS 1989 V8 110 CSW |

Sugerpuff.
The nipple threads all the way down but as you see I've stripped it. ( the smooth shiny with no threads ) Amateur it shouldn't have been out at all but simply kept in the calliper and tied up outa the way. I got lucky As I could easily have stripped the calliper thread also and then need needed new one also. So be careful. Keith |
