I would go 255/85/16, these are larger in diameter and give better off road performance than the 235 or 265’s. Plus they do not rub like the 265’s that they replaced.
If you do a search on here there are loads of threads - I went for Toyo MT’s and am very pleased - I would buy them again |

255/85 is good, what I have now. Really pleased. Minor adjustment to steering lock stops and your good to go. You don’t even need spacers if you can live with a little bit less turning circle. GBR

Noticeably quieter on the road than Cooper STT, very good handling for a Mud Tyre. They fit std LR alloys and Wolfs perfectly. The Speedo runs accurately. They fill the arch better than a std 235 or 265 which looks too small in the large arch of a Defender. I just left the steering locks - they only rub ever so slightly on full lock - only on the radius arms which doesn’t do any harm - unless you have a Very picky MOT centre - if so just adjust the stops - 5 minute job |

I run 265x75R16 BFG KO2 and 255x85R16 Toyo MT, both great tyres!
If you're doing any amount of overlanding I'd maybe stick to 235x85R16 as I'd guess these are the most commonly available? 265x75 and 235x85 have pretty much the same diameter so interchangable in an emergency? Someone will probably correct me if this isn't the case? Agree totally. I put 265/75r16 BFG MT onto boosts without spacers and no adjustments needed. The 265 was a standard tyre atone time. And yes they are so close in circumference that you can carry a 235 as a spare for emergencies. |

As far as I know there are no AT's in 255/85/16 size. Even MT patterns there are very few options. If there was a good AT available I'd run them on the 110. |

+1 for 235/85R16 on the basis of general availability. Also totally agree with comments on 235/85 & 265/75 as far as size goes, the difference between diameter & rolling circumference when new is no different to a new tyre vs a part worn one. I ran GG AT2 265/75s on my 90, with a 235/85 as a spare, for 16 years & no issues with them rubbing. |

Keep badgering BFG about the KO2 and sellers in 255/85/R16.
It worked for the KM3, I was expecting to never see a 255/85 KM3. So you might find a 255/85 KO2 eventually. I'm still happy with my 255/85 KM2. GBR ⛽️🛢️⚙️🧰💪 |

This is described as a Hybrid AT - Cooper STT MAXX, they were also on Amazon UK but currently unavailable: https://www.tyres-pneus-online.co.uk/car-t...120-q.html https://www.amazon.co.uk/Cooper-Discoverer...B00MXNLQEG https://tiresize.com/tires/Cooper/Discover...-85R16.htm |

255 85 16" on steel modulars - no spacers needed, just adjust the stops a bit.

I just replaced my front tyres.. Conti Cross Contact AT as fitted from new in 2015. 235/85 R16. 64000 miles.
Very happy with them..... I booked them up using BlackCircles.com website but the franchised garage I chose simply did it direct and beat the on line price... weird! £250 in total inc everything 2015 90 XS Santorini Black |
