So the framework was 25mm x 25mm? That seems a little bit to small for me.

Yep 25x25mm. Agree it looks a little small but as the panel sizes arent massive at 1m wide and 1.7m tall, plus they screw into the adjoining panel, it makes it pretty sturdy.

All came as a flat pack kit and no movement in the panels

So in effect it's 50 x 50 studs then? 110 D250 SE HT

Definitely worth building your own as you can control the cost-cutting measures that go into most examples, but there are good suppliers around for pre-made small to medium sheds. I would expect minimum of 75x45 for the wall framing and 19mm cladding (actual finished thickness not nominal). And proper roofing like Onduline - not horrible old felt - plus perhaps most importantly.... gutters!

If in doubt, over-engineer it. It’s what I’ve done!

Over engineered? Censored a brick (literally) Laughing
That's everything-proof..... I like your style.
It's what I would do as the over-engineered aspect, doing it yourself, doesn't add much expense really, and it's proper properly bombproof.

When we build our house in Sardinia, can we call you? Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing...

I work for beer too Thumbs Up

Inside is lined and insulated, as well as having electrics plumbed in running on its own consumer unit.

It is a bit overkill, but it should last Mr. Green

We bought a Bespoke 12ft by 4ft shed from Shedritesheds.co.uk and had little expectation as it was very reasonably priced we thought at £540 including VAT and including delivery. When it arrived we were really impressed with the quality. It took no time for 2 of us to assemble and it feels solid, chunky and well made.
I would highly recommend them

Okay, block-built wins for sturdiness but I’ve got insulation too. Not finished yet though!

Fantastic work mate. Although it would be even better thatched.

Good reply, Clayton Thumbs Up

Put an Apollo metal shed up this weekend. They sell them in Argos. We bought ours off Gumtree and it was sealed in its box.

It took for ever to assemble. It has no floor so it leaks around the base (yes it rained this afternoon). It is wafer thin so anything falling on it is likely to dent it. It seems galvanised in the most important bits (around the base) but I worry the fixings will corrode in the first instance.

It’s ok, but I wouldn’t ever buy another one.

It will be used for storing the plastic garden furniture in the winter. I have had it in storage for two or three years so it’s one of those jobs that got done due to social isolation.
