I can't remember everything as I like to keep on top of things when I know an item is getting worn.
I have had a Waterpump, some leaks, prop UJ's replaced and a clutch. I haven't done high miles, seems to be a bit of a pattern of fairly low mileage clutch changes. Mine was about 44k miles. Other things like tyres and brake pads, nothing more than you'd expect. ⭐️⭐️God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 ⭐️⭐️ |

2007 110 Double-cab, 245000 miles, working from memory these are the parts replaced due to failure, this doesn't include working parts removed for upgrade:
I think that that is about it, there may be some things I can't immediately remember. Possibly the most remarkable and noteworthy omission from this list is the output adaptor shaft, which at time of writing is the original and has done a gnat's whisker under a quarter million miles. |

On the whole I don't think that that is too bad bearing in mind it's done nearly the quarter million miles. The disappointing things are the clutches, and the early ones in particular were notoriously useless (but at least it's not a DMF like the equally inadequate TD5 clutch), and the way it used to munch drive lines. The original 2-gear front diff was wholly inadequate, and the rear diff and halfshafts not much better.
Over time I've upgraded most of the driveline (three Ashcroft ATBs, Glynn Lewis HD propshafts (DC at front), Ashcroft front shafts and CVs, genuine one-piece rear shafts, and I have a Transit 4x4 clutch to fit) so it is now pretty good, arguably up to the standard JLR should have built. My Disco 2 is 5 years older, similarly mileage, and has had two clutches, two steering boxes, one gearbox (R380), three sets of tyres, and a throttle position sensor, and that's about it. Still love them both, though! |

So, is the Transit 4x4 clutch the one to fit these days, I’ve noticed others have gone for that item too?
Mines on the original at 35 k miles but I know it won’t last forever. Dreading the inevitable but it appears it’s in the lap of the gods as to when it’ll give up the ghost. |

There are three popular upgrades, LOF clutches, Clutchfix, and the 4x4 Transit, all have their supporters and I suspect all are fairly similar.
Alternatively you could sell your house and put the proceeds towards a genuine HD clutch! Finally it is worth remembering that the latest standard clutches are far better than the early ones, my current one has done 100k miles which is far more than I expected. |

More than 50 Transit clutch installed on Puma here in Italy, some of these (approx. 35) now with more than 70000-100000 km traveled and make no rattling noise..... The transit one is, visually, the most massive especially for the spring plate and the clutch disk springs Discovery 5 td6 HSE Stornoway Gray Outback Engineering Limited Edition IID Pro MV License |
