Only going by the caption that was with the photo, it is only one photo so who knows what happened after that was taken.

It’s had a bit of a beating

Just how many people have been out on these tours? Enough to fill all the 1st quarter orders?

Apparently it’s a staged recovery so the journos can play with the winch.

Well someone didn't get the memo...

"A pair of Defender 110s on a media trip have saved the life of a truck driver stuck in the Namibian desert"

The Angolan driver had been stranded in the remote desert of south west Africa for three days with little to eat and drink and no communications to call for help."

Ahh... my bad.

Can you link to the photos?

Some rock crawling.

Spent the morning rock climbing in the new #LandRover Defender. Punishing Van Zyles pass in northern Namibia possibly the most difficult ‘road’ I’ve driven on. Took one and a half hours to cover 10km!

Any HGV drivers out there?

If you had been stuck for three days and your food was running out, would you try unhitching the trailer, clearing some of the earth around the tractor unit tyres, dropping the tyre pressures and attempt to drive out the tractor unit on its own?
Or is there more traction with the weight of the trailer on the 5th wheel?

Or is there a bit of journalistic licence and stage management going on around this rescue mission story?

Apologies for some of the language in the clip, but it looks like Toyota have been there before :

Lohr500,
Surely you are not insinuating JLR would place a fabricated story in the press in order to make their vehicle look good?

How very dare you. WARNING.
